icpf contest 2011: Lambda: The GatheringMy writeup about the contest is available at http://www.croco.net/croco/icfp2011 I apologise for the cyrillic title and menus on this site, it was not intended for international audience, but it is the only Drupal site (with forums) I've got handy right now. The contest writeup is in English, and all the technical messages here are English, too, so you don't have to know/read/speak Russian in order to leave a comment. Thanks! |

Privyet! I have just read
Privyet! I have just read your excellent account of the ICFP contest and wanted to thank you for writing it up.
I participated as Team Spikey (shows up as Team Spikey 2 in the team list).
You had a good idea with realizing that help can be self-help, I never thought of that.
I have been working a bit on my solution since the contest ended.
On Saturday of the contest I tried attempting recursion several times, several ways and never got it to work. After the contest I looked closely at the technique shown in the contest announcement. It's a bit like a goto because you use the get card to fetch the same function you are running in its slot and call that.
Feel free to follow up at my gmail address if you'd like to discuss the problem further.
Joel
